Job DescriptionThe University of Florida (UF) Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is seeking a Pediatric Hepatologist to join as faculty in our collegial group. The candidate will be expected to provide outpatient and inpatient care with focus on pediatric liver diseases and transplant hepatology. The division and UF Shands Children’s Hospital is undergoing significant growth. The candidate(s) will help build, grow and run a Pediatric Liver Transplant Program.
Based on data released in July 2024 by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR), the UF adult liver transplant program was No. 1 among liver transplant programs in the country. The division of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition at University of Florida currently consists of 8 Pediatric Gastroenterologists, 1 Advanced Practice Provider, 3 Fellows, 2 Dieticians, 4 dedicated GI nurses and extensive administrative support.
Our program already has the support in place needed for an active Hepatology service including 2 liver transplant nurse coordinators, social workers, and specialists such as liver transplant surgery team, transplant immunology, infectious disease, hematology/oncology, psychology, pediatric radiology and interventional radiology, and pediatric anesthesia.
The division provides inpatient services at Shands Children’s Hospital. Our rapidly growing multidisciplinary clinics represent a strong and long-lasting collaboration with partners in pediatric surgery, ENT, pulmonary, and child psychology. The division has the distinction as a leader in providing outreach clinic services as well as telehealth services throughout the state of Florida. Additionally, UF Health Pediatrics has a history of educational excellence and promoting research interests.
The faculty member(s) will contribute to an environment that advances the strong clinical, research, and educational missions of UF Health.
Candidates must be board certified/eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology with additional training in Transplant Hepatology.

Salary is negotiable, commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Requirements- M.D degree or equivalent
- Licensed/eligible for licensure in the state of Florida
- Board certified/eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology with additional training in Transplant Hepatology
