Are you a people person with a knack for building rapport and conducting engaging conversations? UF has an opportunity for you as a Part-Time Bilingual English-Spanish Telephone Interviewer in the UF Survey Research team. As an English-Spanish Bilingual Telephone Interviewer, you will be responsible for conducting surveys over the phone with diverse respondents. You will contribute to gathering valuable data for academic and business research and gain hands-on experience in the field of survey research.
Reviewing applications throughout Spring 2026, with initial training sessions scheduled to start in February. The work is conducted on-site at UF's Innovation Square in downtown Gainesville, in a casual call center environment with a flexible part-time schedule to balance academic and personal commitments. Interviewing shifts are available between 10:00 and 22:00 on weekdays, 12:00–18:00 on Saturdays, and 15:00–18:00 on Sundays depending on department needs.
To succeed in this role, you will need exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, a clear speaking voice, and the capacity to adapt to various situations. Basic proficiency in computers, willingness to learn new software, and the ability to follow instructions are essential. No sales, marketing, lobbying, or fundraising is involved in this position.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
- 18 years old or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work at least 15 hours per week
- Able to work for the next 3 months after start date
- Clear and professional speaking voice in fluent English and fluent Spanish
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to read from a script exactly as written
- Ability to listen effectively and follow instructions
- Basic computer literacy
- Customer service and telephone experience
- Ability to follow standard operating and project-related procedures
- Ability to work at least 3 weekday evenings (6 PM–9 PM) per week
- Ability to work one 3-hour weekend shift
- Ability to work from 9 PM to 10 PM at least 1 weekday per week on seasonal projects contacting the Central Time Zone (e.g., Texas)
Starting Pay: $16.50/hour plus productivity incentives based on above-average performance

Work DetailsThere are multiple open positions for this role. The work is 100% on-site at UF’s Gainesville survey center. Employment verification and background screening are required to proceed with all applications.
