Job DescriptionThe Center for Arts in Medicine in the College of the Arts seeks a copy editor to join us in editing submissions for our digital journal, Perspectives on Arts in Health. Perspectives on Arts in Health is an open-access, peer-reviewed publication dedicated to advancing practice and research at the intersection of arts and health.

Responsibilities- Corrects grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors
- Ensures that all content adheres to APA style guide and journal guidelines
- Reviews references and information to ensure they are cited appropriately in APA style, as applicable
- Conducts a final proofread of formatted content before publication
- Collaborate with the layout designer to create journal style guides and submission templates
- Other tasks as assigned by the editor (Center Director).
$40/hour
Required Qualifications- B.A. in English, communications, journalism, or related field.
- Able to work up to 10 hours per week
The successful candidate will bring to the position:
- 1-2 years of experience in proofreading, APA-style, and copy-editing skills
- Knowledge of APA style
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proven attention to detail and initiative to meet deadlines without prompting
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Knowledge of scholarly fields related to arts in health
- Evidence of success in promoting an environment that advances pluralism, curiosity, viewpoint diversity, open discourse, and the well-being of all.
