Position: Food Scientist 1
Location: 2183 SE Hawthorne Rd, Gainesville, FL 32641, USA
Type: Full-time, Entry level
Responsibilities:- Perform physical testing procedures to identify sample characteristics according to client requests, reviewing and modifying methods as needed, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Assist in creating work instructions, data sheets, and review data accuracy.
- Communicate testing concerns to supervisors and support customer care with updates and information.
- Record and analyze data, produce reports, and ensure sample integrity and proper disposal.
- Prepare samples for testing and shipping, support data entry and report development, and participate in quality and process improvements.
- Identify deviations from testing protocols and document accordingly.
- Support non-food testing and method development as needed.
Bachelor's degree preferred or at least two years of experience in hospitality, retail, manufacturing, or a related field. Experience in Food Science is a plus.
Work Environment: Laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals and materials, requiring safety equipment and physical activity including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
