Overview

Our client is a private, growing organization located in Gahanna, Ohio, with more than 50 years of history and stability in their industry. They are seeking a Controller to lead the company’s accounting and reporting functions while driving improvements in financial processes, systems, and controls.

This position is based in Gahanna, OH.

The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and internal controls. This individual will play a key role in improving reporting accuracy and streamlining processes to support ongoing growth. The Controller will partner closely with leadership and operations to provide timely financial insights that influence business decisions.

• Lead and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Drive process improvements and implement enhanced accounting procedures
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
• Oversee account reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting packages
• Partner with operations, leadership, and cross-functional departments to support strategic initiatives
• Coordinate annual audits and maintain relationships with external auditors
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members
• Support system enhancements and automation initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• 7–12+ years of progressive accounting or controllership experience
• Strong GAAP knowledge and reporting expertise
• Demonstrated experience improving processes and implementing best practices
• Comfortable in a growing, hands-on, fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting automation is a plus
