Overview
We are seeking a P rogressive Care Charge RN , internally referred to as our Progressive Care Unit Charge Nurse . The PCU Charge Nurse will be responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and operations within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Step-Down Unit . They will ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, promote a positive work environment, and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

- If you have experience in Acute Care, such has Rehab, ICU, Critical Care Unit (CCU), PCU, Step-Down, Emergency Room (ER) or other critical care areas as an RN, you are encouraged to apply!
- P rovide leadership and direction to the nursing staff in the PCU, including registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and nursing assistants you will need to assign patient care responsibilities based on staff competency and patient acuity levels
- E nsure that patients in the PCU receive high-quality, safe, and effective care, you will also monitor patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes to ensure adherence to standards of practice and protocols
- D istribute resources, encompass staffing, equipment, and supplies, to fulfill the requirements of patients and staff, proactively identify and resolve any challenges pertaining to resource availability or usage
- C oordinate care with physicians, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of PCU patients
- S erve as an advocate for patients and families, ensure their needs, preferences, and concerns are addressed, push for patient safety, quality of care, and adherence to ethical principles
- P articipate in quality improvement activities and initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care outcomes, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards
- P rovide guidance, education, and mentorship to nursing staff in the Progressive Care Unit, facilitate ongoing professional development through training, continuing education opportunities, and performance feedback
- C urrent and valid state RN License
- C urrent BLS upon hire and maintain current
- C urrent ACLS 30 days upon of hire and maintain current
- PALS within 30 days of hire for units that admit pediatric patients
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- RN-C within 2 years of hire
