The Medical‑Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides delegated aspects of direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The LPN demonstrates critical thinking, leadership, and sound judgment in planning and delivering safe, high‑quality patient care. Responsibilities include physical assessment, data collection, medication administration, patient education, and coordination of discharge planning.

• License:
  Active Compact or Alabama (AL) LPN License
• Certifications:
  
  BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
• Experience:
  
  Minimum 1 year of recent Med‑Surg experience
• EMR:
  Cerner experience preferred
• Patient Ratio: 6:1
• Distance Rule:
  Must reside 50+ miles from the facility

• Deliver delegated nursing care within scope of practice
• Perform assessments and document patient data accurately
• Administer medications and IV therapy as ordered
• Collaborate with RNs and interdisciplinary teams
• Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and state nursing regulations
