! Are you a compassionate and confident nurse looking to make a meaningful impact in Public Health? We’re seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Southern Regional Center Clinic. This position will serve as the regional resource nurse and support coverage at the primary hub (the Southern Regional Center) and other regional centers as needed.
In this vital role, you’ll be at the forefront of public service—providing skilled nursing care and support for persons of all ages. You’ll be part of a passionate team who are mission driven and prioritize client-centric care and cultural competence. Within Public Health, your expertise and commitment to service will help improve lives and promote community wellness.
Responsibilities- Assist clinical staff and Medical Providers with completing client visits, including: obtaining detailed health history information (e.g., immunizations, womens health, sexual health, substance use, mental health, and vital signs)
- Exam chaperoning
- Administering immunizations and medications (IM, SUBQ, PO, Inhalation)
- Documenting within the EMR and NCIR
- Communicate and collaborate across disciplines within and outside the agency to coordinate care and services for clients, e.g., specialty referrals, care coordination
- Provide in person and telephone triage for clients and other callers to address concerns promptly, utilizing sound nursing judgment
- Review and complete faxes and Prior Authorizations (PAs)
- Maintain clinic supplies
- Actively participate with clinic CQI initiatives
- Attend in-services, workshops, and trainings within and outside the organization to maintain licensure and certifications
- Rotate to additional sites to provide support when needed
- Train and be readily available to assist Wake County in the event of an emergency
Education and Experience )
- Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
- No specific experience required
- Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse as issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

- Spanish language skills preferred but not required
