Summary:
An Advanced Practice Provider functions as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high quality, cost effective care to patients within the APPs scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician. The APP reflects the mission, vision, and values of the organization, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and other regulatory and accreditation standards.
our growing UNC Urgent Care provider team! This is an employed position with UNC Rex and is a shift-based model. Our provider team staffs our 9 UNC Rex based UNC Urgent Care clinics across Wake County, open 7 days a week from 8am-8pm. We see ages 4 months of age and older. Our team includes RNs, CMAs, Rad Techs, MOAs, Physicians and APPs.
We have on-site X‑Ray and point of care testing. Our clinics are walk‑in based with a reservation and wait time system. We look forward to reviewing your application today! Responsibilities
- Clinical – Obtains relevant health and medical history, performs thorough physical assessment, reviews and interprets pertinent diagnostic tests, develops appropriate differential diagnoses, implements evidence‑based treatment plans, conducts preventive health screening, maintains comprehensive records, and performs medical procedures consistent with guidelines.
- Education – Provides professional education to clients, families, clinicians, staff, and students, develops educational materials, and participates in self‑learning initiatives.
- Leadership – Provides instruction to physicians, house staff, nursing, ancillaries and/or students, participates in community outreach, develops and leads outreach programs, and leads systems improvements.
- Professional – Interacts with patients and families respectfully and courteously, collaborates with coworkers, responds quickly to meet customer needs, and shares responsibility for overall workload.
- Quality/Research – Engages in continuous quality improvement, leads interdisciplinary teams, initiates and revises protocols and guidelines, and develops new clinical programs to improve patient care.
- Education Requirements: Completion of an accredited graduate‑level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
- Licensure/Certification Requirements: Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in the state of North Carolina. Board certification if required by the Department. DEA.

Requirements: Demonstrated clinical competency, effective leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, strong written and verbal communication, strong analytical skills, effective interaction to ensure successful patient care in the clinical setting, and documentation in the medical record to substantiate accurate billing.
