Delivery Expert

Job Requirements and Duties

You must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards, and access to an insured vehicle for delivery. You should have customer service skills, navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and the ability to navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings. Drivers also assist with inside tasks periodically such as food preparation and cleaning.

Must be licensed in the United States for at least the last 2 years and be able to prove a licensed driving history. You must be an insured driver on the vehicle’s insurance policy. The vehicle must be registered.

Pay

$16.00 per hour, plus tips and mileage

Job Duties for All Team Members
  • Operate all equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler. Prepare product.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility daily.
Training

Orientation and training provided on the job.

Communication Skills
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
Essential Functions / Skills / Abilities
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
  • Must be able to make correct monetary change.
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers for precise movements with speed.
  • Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
  • Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within the delivery area. Must navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.
Work Conditions
  • Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks.
  • In-store temperatures range from 36 to 90 degrees or higher in some areas.
  • Sudden changes in temperature in the work area and outside.
  • Fumes from food odors; exposure to cornmeal dust.
  • Cramped quarters including walk-in cooler and hot surfaces up to 500 degrees or higher.
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Sensing
  • Talking and hearing on telephone.
  • Near and mid-range vision; depth perception.
  • Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
Temperaments

The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality standards, deal with people, analyze data, and make judgments and decisions.

Physical Requirements

The following are typical physical requirements; duties may include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, and standing as described:

  • Standing
    :
    Most tasks are performed standing.
  • Walking
    :
    Short distances for short durations; surfaces include ceramic tile and linoleum; work surfaces height 36" to 48".
  • Sitting
    :
    Office paperwork at a desk or table.
  • Lifting
    :
    Deliveries may involve cases up to 50 pounds; up to 72" high shelving.
  • Carrying
    :
    Large cans (3 lb 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lb), pizza dough trays (about 12 lb per tray).
  • Pushing
    :
    Move trays on dollies; up to 7.5 pounds of force.
  • Climbing
    :
    Occasional stairs or ladders for price changes, maintenance.
  • Stooping / Bending
    :
    Repeated forward bending at waist in several stations.
  • Crouching / Squatting
    :
    Occasional to stock shelves and clean low areas.
  • Reaching
    :
    Reaching above 72"; frequent and continuous reaching for tasks.
  • Hand Tasks
    :
    Eye-hand coordination; frequent use of hands; dough shaping; pizza peel handling; box assembly; grasping various objects.
