Position SummaryThe Quality Assurance Manager will serve as a key leader in maintaining and advancing the organization's quality management systems and regulatory compliance programs. This hands‑on role requires a proactive individual who can balance strategic quality system improvements with day‑to‑day operational oversight. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, team‑oriented environment where wearing multiple hats and taking initiative are essential to success.
EssentialDuties
- Partner with Research & Development, Supply Chain, Operations, and other departments to establish and refine processes that ensure ongoing compliance with current and evolving food safety regulations.
- Lead the enhancement and optimization of quality management systems, identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Develop and facilitate comprehensive training programs for production associates and cross‑functional team members on quality protocols, food safety requirements, and GMP standards.
- Evaluate and verify quality documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory alignment including production records, specifications, and testing reports.
- Coordinate and participate in internal compliance assessments and serve in a leadership capacity during third‑party certification audits and regulatory inspections.
- Direct root cause investigations for quality deviations, non‑conformances, and process failures using structured problem‑solving methodologies.
- Manage the corrective and preventive action system, ensuring timely implementation, verification, and effectiveness validation of all CAPA initiatives.
- Oversee data collection, trend analysis, and statistical evaluation to support quality decision‑making and identify improvement opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, Food Science) or related field; candidates with strong technical backgrounds in other scientific areas will be considered.
- Minimum 2 years of management or supervisory experience in a quality assurance or food safety role.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing HACCP plans from concept through validation.
- Proven capability managing audit processes, corrective actions, preventive measures, data analysis, and validation activities.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or ingredient production environments required.
- SQF Practitioner certification or equivalent GFSI credential.
- PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) or HACCP certification.
- Experience with specialty food ingredients, color additives, or confectionery manufacturing.
