RN First Assistant

Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)

Position at Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA. This is a full‑time role with 12‑hour day shifts.

The RN First Assistant independently uses the nursing process to safely, therapeutically, and efficiently care for patients requiring surgical intervention. The RNFA collaborates with the surgeon and the healthcare team to perform a safe operative procedure with an optimal outcome for the patient, and when not providing assisting services, performs circulating and/or scrub duties as assigned.

• Hired prior to 1/1/11 (and rehired after 1/1/11):
  Graduate from nursing school with a diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree – hired on/after 1/1/11:
  Graduate from nursing school with a minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Hired as a result of a unit transfer from Heritage:
  Graduate from nursing school with a diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Hired as a ministry transfer:
  Currently enrolled in a BSN program with an expected graduation date within 6 months of hire.
• California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.
• Three (3) years of diversified perioperative nursing experience.

• Two (2) years – diversified RNFA experience.

Pay Range: $63.52 – $98.60 per hour.
