PurposeThe role is primarily responsible for mixing ink formulations to support the Silkscreen department, ensuring accurate and timely color preparation for production. Maintains ink inventory, records, and work area to uphold quality, safety, and 5S workplace standards.
EducationHigh school diploma preferred but not required.
Experience1-3 years of experience in color mixing (paint, ink, or similar) is required, familiarity with silkscreen processes is a plus.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities

- Strong color vision and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of color theory and ink/paint systems
- Ability to follow mixing procedures, formulas, and documentation protocols
- Ability to perform weight-based calculations involving percentages
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize multiple tasks
- Effective verbal communication and collaboration with team members
- Mix ink colors using existing formulations, create new formulations as needed, and reformulate existing ones for quality and consistency
- Use a digital color spectrophotometer to match ink colors to customer-supplied chips or internal references
- Maintain a digital and physical database of all color formulations
- Label all ink containers clearly with formulation details and identification information
- Monitor Silkscreen production needs and proactively ensure required inks are prepared to avoid delays
- Pull required materials from stock (inks, formula books, tools, etc.)
- Clean tools and equipment using thinner, acetone, and other approved solvents
- Maintain the ink mixing area, tools, and materials in a clean, organized, and safe condition in line with 5S standards
- Communicate with the Graphics department regarding color samples and approvals
- Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Assist with other department-related duties as assigned
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to full shift)
- Ability to lift and move containers weighing up to 20 kg (approximately 44 lbs) or more
- Use of cleaning agents (e.g., thinner, acetone) with proper PPE
- Manual handling of ink containers, tools, and related materials
- Fine visual discrimination to match color accurately using a spectrophotometer and by eye
- Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder
