The California Court Reporters Association announces its latest seminar: A Reporter's Guide to Civil Court! Be ahead of the curve instead of behind it! Because of recent budget-driven changes in courts statewide and in response to overwhelming demand at our last convention, the Continuing Education Committee has developed a comprehensive seminar to address concerns expressed by our members, including:
- The very latest on fees, including the position of the Court Reporters Board
- How to negotiate courthouse security, metal detectors
- Civil cases from filing to settlement/verdict
- Trial court procedures/decorum
- Calendars
- Trials
- Reading back to the jury
- Appeals
This seminar will be presented by four informative and knowledgeable speakers:
- Kristi Garcia, President CCRA and an official in Fresno County;
- Lesia Mervin, Past President of CCRA, official in Tulare County
- Tom Pringle, Past President of CCRA, official in Shasta County
