OverviewCal State Fullerton invites a Business Systems Analyst II to support People Soft Finance (CFS), P2P, and other ERP applications. The role leads design, review, testing, and training activities, and collaborates with functional users, technical staff, and external integrations.
Responsibilities- Lead and participate in design and review sessions for new or revised People Soft functionality.
- Maintain functional specifications for implementations, conversions, upgrades, customizations, interfaces, reports, forms, and workflow.
- Create and execute test scripts and scenarios; assist with application testing following system enhancements, patches, and fixes.
- Provide training to central and distributed users, developing handouts, brochures, online materials, and business process guides.
- Act as liaison between end‑users and technical staff; coordinate and test application fixes and patches.
- Develop specifications and requirements for custom applications; consult with functional users to define scope.
- Perform feasibility and design analysis; identify external system integration needs.
- Support People Soft Human Capital Management implementation, including design sessions, functional specification maintenance, testing, training and coordination of fixes/patches.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
- Analyzes data, processes, and systems; provides actionable insights; collaborates with cross‑functional teams.
- Applies business systems analysis and project management knowledge to support users, gather requirements, perform business process engineering, and troubleshoot issues.
- Coordinates fixes, system improvements, upgrades, and testing, working independently under general supervision.
- Strong project planning, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with and analyze complex data sets; create reports using database, query language, and analytical tools.
- Proficiency with applicable software applications and business systems; knowledge of university and IT policies, processes, and procedures.
- Background check required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or equivalent.
- Full life cycle system development, systems implementation, and Business Analyst experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with end‑user reporting tools such as AWS Quick Sight, Tableau, or Power BI; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of People Soft Finance modules (CFS, Purchasing, Asset Management, GL, AP).
- Experience with People Soft Human Capital Management modules (CHRS Workforce Administration, Benefits Administration, Time and Labor, etc.).
- Experience with People Soft Query and Oracle SQL.
