Responsibilities
  • Deliver Training:
    Provide SME input in the development, implementation, and delivery of comprehensive training programs for HVAC/R technicians, ranging from entry-level skills to advanced topics such as CO2 refrigeration systems, HVAC control systems (including Building Management Systems and Direct Digital Controls), and energy-efficient practices.
  • Develop Training Materials:
    Provide SME input in the creation and updating of training materials, manuals, presentations, and e-learning content, ensuring alignment with the latest industry standards, codes, and best practices. Include in-depth coverage of system diagnostics, CO2 systems operation and maintenance, and advanced HVAC controls.
  • Hands-On Training:
    Conduct hands-on training sessions covering installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various HVAC/R systems, with a focus on CO2 refrigeration, heat pumps, VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems, and smart controls integration.
  • Evaluate Training Effectiveness:
    Assess the effectiveness of training programs through knowledge assessments, practical evaluations, feedback, and performance metrics. Continuously refine training programs based on these evaluations to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
  • Stay Current with Industry Trends:
    Monitor and stay current with emerging technologies and trends, such as natural refrigerants (CO2, ammonia), advanced control strategies (IoT-enabled controls, smart thermostats), and new regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor and Support:
    Provide mentorship and support to trainers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate on Training Needs:
    Work closely with management, field staff, and external partners to identify specific training needs, including advanced diagnostics, CO2 systems, and controls, tailoring programs to meet those needs.
  • Maintain Training Facilities:
    Oversee the upkeep of training equipment and facilities, ensuring all tools and systems (e.g., CO2 racks, variable frequency drives, smart controllers) are in proper working order for training sessions.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    Ensure all training activities comply with safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry certifications, particularly when dealing with CO2 systems and other natural refrigerants.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in HVAC/R, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience from working in the field.
  • Instructional Design:
    Experience in adult learning principles and curriculum development.
  • Digital Training Platforms:
    Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), virtual training platforms, and other digital tools for remote learning.
