Engineering Manager

Summary

Engineers organize, plan, and lead a skilled team of design and project engineers in the support, design, and development of new company products in accordance with customer specifications, company engineering policies and procedures, and market requirements. The manager is responsible for the technical aspects of new and legacy aerospace products within an assigned segment of business operations. The manager is also responsible for leading and supporting the growth of cross‑functional teams, collaborating across engineering disciplines to maximize value to the customer and meet market opportunities.

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain overall technical ownership/authority and lead the team engaged in the design and development of company products.
• Facilitate communication and interaction among both internal and external stakeholders by advocating and fostering cross‑functional teamwork using team‑based management and leadership concepts.
• Ensure that the goals, objectives, deliverables of each program/project are accomplished. Strong bias in execution of the company's product development process and targeted OTD.
• Ability to identify and communicate project risks, objectives, and requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
• Responsive for supporting the marketing of company products as well as analyzing customer requirements, providing special technical analyses, and resolving customer problems.
• Technical lead in engineering design and product support for new business opportunities.
• Build and lead a dynamic team as an effective leader of the organization.
• Provide employee coaching and mentoring to further strengthen the culture within the team.
• Support the development of short and long‑term goals with engineering department alignment to overall company goals and objectives.
• Identify new and/or opportunities for applications driven by customer and new partner relationships.
• Develop innovative and proprietary technology for varied commercial and military platforms using focused resources and cross‑functional teamwork.
• Manage and lead configuration management, organization, recruitment for the team.
• Lead activities to enhance the efficiency of the engineering department.
• Travel domestically and/or internationally to support sales with new business opportunities or provide engineering support on customer issues.
• Work standard 5‑day work week.
• Support other duties as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years of product design/engineering experience and/or a minimum of 3 years of project/engineering management experience (engineering management experience supervising technical professionals).

• Experience in aerospace and/or medical industry preferred.
• Experience with MS Office products (including Microscope Project) and 3D CAD/CAE (knowledge of Solid Works is preferred).
• Knowledge/experience of PDM or equivalent is a plus.
• Knowledge/experience of configuration management is a plus.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach or grip, touch or feel. The employee may be required to repeat or hold positions for extended periods, lift or carry objects up to 50 lbs., and bend, strain. The employee is also required to occasionally travel for business to support customer or product field work.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000
