Part Time Counselor Pool

The Department of Counseling & Psychological Services at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its part‑time Counselor pool.

We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student‑centered in the following subject areas:

• Clinical supervision
• Multicultural/Diversity
• College population
• Crisis intervention
• Individual/group therapy
• Outreach/Consultation

This is a general recruitment for a pool of part‑time counselors that the department can draw from as needed. Qualified applicants will be contacted for positions when they become available. Appointments from the part‑time pool are temporary and applicants must be available on very short notice.

• PhD, PsyD. Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field or equivalent experience
• CA License as a Psychologist
• Prior supervision experience at the doctoral level
• Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first‑generation college students

• Significant experience working with diverse college populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment
• Relevant performance and professional experience

Regular performance evaluations of part‑time counselors are made by the department in accordance with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These evaluations determine which counselors will be retained for future assignments.

The temporary Counselor classification salary range is $7,830 to $14,109 per month, with an anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $8,104 per month. Salary is prorated to the time base assigned and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

CAPS provides support for students facing personal challenges and mental health concerns, including short‑term individual counseling, group counseling, case management and referral, psycho educational workshops, and crisis intervention. The team includes psychologists, social workers, and marriage & family therapists who specialize in working with a diverse college student population.
