The College of Education is home to more than 1200 credential and graduate students. The College of Education's work focuses on closing the opportunity gap. The College's impact is notable given the fact that we credential the largest number of teachers of any public institution in the state of California and have the largest Ed.D. program in the CSU system. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Assistant to the Dean, College of Education (Administrative Analyst/Specialist Exempt I).
The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
This position serves as an Assistant to the Dean and offers high-level administrative, strategic, analytical, operational, and programmatic support to the College of Education leadership team and staff, including the Dean, the Dean's Office, college-based centers and institutes, the Centers' five departments, and three interdisciplinary programs. This role also provides high-level strategic support to various signature programs within these units, which are funded by both internal and external sources.
Serves as the primary liaison between the Dean and internal administrative personnel, faculty, staff, as well as external stakeholders, maintaining professionalism and sensitivity. Analyzes and interprets university policies and provides analysis and interpretation to college and department personnel to execute responsibilities effectively and within policies. Conducts research and analysis for presentations, reports and communication to internal and external stakeholders and partners on the mission and goals of the college.
Oversees office operations, including creating, assessing, and evaluating internal processes to improve efficiency. Provides strategic support to align program and department programs, communications and events with the college and university's mission, values, and goals. Initiates and independently plans, organizes, coordinates, and executes college events, including securing venues, working with vendors and stakeholders, and coordinating the support work of other office personnel.
Oversee all college social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, X and Linked In. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus two years of related experience. Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations.
Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
