English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor Pool – Part‑Time

Special InstructionsThis recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified.
The position is a continuous recruitment to fill part‑time and temporary faculty assignments on an as‑needed basis. When the need arises, the department will refer to this pool of part‑time faculty.

Your responsibilities will include teaching English as a Second Language to a diverse student body, developing lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with curriculum standards, and providing individualized support to students. You will also participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and community outreach events as required.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s in TESL, TESOL, applied linguistics with a TESL emphasis, linguistics with a TESL emphasis, English with a TESL emphasis, or education with a TESL emphasis.
- OR Bachelor’s in TESL, TESOL, English with a TESL certificate, linguistics with a TESL certificate, applied linguistics with a TESL certificate, or any foreign language with a TESL certificate.
- AND master’s in linguistics, applied linguistics, English, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, reading, speech or any foreign language.
- OR possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area.
- OR equivalent qualifications, including related education, training, employment, and professional experience determined by the District Equivalency Committee.
