the department of modern languages and literatures at csu fullerton invites applications for its part-time lecturer pool in vietnamese studies to teach undergraduate courses in vietnamese language, culture, business, art, literature, linguistics and/or film.

we are seeking highly motivated, well-organized individuals to teach in at least two of the following subject areas:

• vietnamese language, introductory to advanced
• vietnamese culture, civilization, and contemporary vietnam
• vietnamese for business
• vietnamese literature
• vietnamese linguistics
• vietnamese film

this is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.

appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

• candidates must hold at least a master's degree in vietnamese studies or a related field and possess native-like fluency in vietnamese to teach lower-division (100- and 200-level) courses, and must hold a ph.d. (or be a ph.d. Candidate) in vietnamese studies or a related field and possess native-like fluency in vietnamese in order to teach upper-division (300-level) courses.
• candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
• this position requires the legal right to work in the united states of america. California state university, fullerton cannot sponsor part-time faculty for work visas or permanent residence.

• preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching
• preference will also be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
• preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.
