Assistant Professor, Information Systems – Tenure Track

Position:
Tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Information Systems. Appointment begins Fall 2026, anticipated starting date:
August 17 2026.

Department: Information Systems and Decision Sciences, College of Business and Economics, California State University, Fullerton.

Position Summary

Ideal candidates will successfully teach upper‑division undergraduate and graduate courses related to Information Systems and demonstrate a clear research agenda with potential for high‑quality scholarly publications. The successful candidate will also advise students, serve on committees, and contribute to departmental and university life.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of upper‑division undergraduate and graduate courses (e.g., artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, databases, business intelligence, data analysis, process mining, telecommunications, enterprise systems, information security, IS management, IT project management).
  • Conduct high‑quality research and build a strong record of scholarly work essential for tenure and promotion.
  • Advise students and serve on faculty and departmental committees.
  • Contribute to and participate in the broader university and disciplinary communities.
Required Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree (or expected to receive before appointment) in Information Systems or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated record or potential for conducting high‑quality IS research.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness in upper‑division courses.
  • Commitment to effectively teach students from intersecting, marginalized social groups.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree from an AACSB‑accredited business school or proven record of success at such an institution.
  • Robust technical skill set in programming, AI/ML, database management, cloud computing, cybersecurity, blockchain, or related business technologies.

Compensation

Assistant Professor annual salary range: $6,221 to $13,224 per month (12 payments). Anticipated range: $10,181 to $10,380 per month. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
