Position Overview
The Department of Social Work at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer Pool. The pool provides part‑time faculty support for courses in the following areas as need arises.
Courses Eligible for Teaching- Social Welfare Policy
- Social Work Practice with Older Adults
- Mental Health Policy & Social Work
- Mental Health Practice with Children and Adults
- Human Development in Social Environments
- Master’s Project/Research Methods
- Social Work Practice with Diverse Populations
Lecturers in the pool will be appointed on a course‑by‑course basis. Appointments are temporary and typically made shortly before the academic term. Lecturers must be able to begin teaching on short notice and are expected to work independently in a community‑based environment.
Required Qualifications- A Master’s Degree in Social Work or Social Welfare from a CSWE‑accredited program.
- For practice classes, at least 2 years post‑master’s practice experience.
- University‑level teaching experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with culturally and ethnically diverse populations.
- Experience working with clients of diverse socio‑cultural backgrounds in multiple settings.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California for practice classes.

Appointment and SalaryInitial appointments are for one semester. Compensation is based on units taught and ranges from $5,507 to $6,677 per month, prorated for the semester.
Background CheckPosition requires satisfactory background screening as required by CSU policy. Rehire after a 12‑month break requires a new background check.
