Department of Literacy & Reading Education

Part-Time Graduate Lecturer Pool

Position

The Department of Literacy & Reading Education at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Graduate Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach Graduate Literacy & Reading courses. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted once the positions are available.

Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Required Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Literacy & Reading or closely related field from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years’ PK-12 teaching experience or equivalent.
  • Experience in preparation and development of literacy leaders in diverse educational settings.
  • Commitment to Just, Equitable, and Inclusive education.
  • Ability to effectively work with students from intersecting historically marginalized social groups using innovative instructional approaches.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, including effective use of technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual or Biliterate or experience working with bilingual/biliterate students.
  • Experience serving students from diverse social identities and a strong commitment to anti-racist teaching and social justice.
  • Active involvement in related professional organizations.

Appointment Date & Calendar

Most needed in Fall and Spring semesters. Fall: late August to mid-December;
Spring: mid-January to May. Rarely during Summer sessions.

Performance Evaluation

Regular evaluations by the department as per collective bargaining agreement and university policy. Syllabi, assignments, and reading materials may be reviewed.

Salary & Benefits

Appointments as Lecturers, under CSU collective bargaining agreement. Initial appointments are semester-long. Salary range: $5,507 - $6,677/month, depending on qualifications. Compensation prorated by units worked. Benefits info at (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)./
