Overview
The Environmental Studies Graduate Program at CSUF invites applicants for its part-time faculty pool on an ongoing basis. The master’s program in Environmental Studies is interdisciplinary, focusing on human interaction with the environment and geared for students entering the expanding environmental field in environmental science, planning and regulation, and environmental education. The program integrates paradigms from sciences, social sciences, and humanities and serves 60-100 graduate students.
We are seeking highly motivated, well-organized individuals for possible teaching assignments in the following courses:
- Air Quality Management
- Environmental Education
- Environmental Hydrology
- Environmental Impact Assessment
- Environmental Planning
- Environmental Policy
This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.
Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
Required Qualifications- Candidates should have a PhD, or have a Master’s degree with considerable professional experience. Disciplinary background and professional expertise should be consistent with the course content.
- Teaching experience, with applied environmental expertise, and experience addressing environmental challenges in the Southern California context.
- Candidates should demonstrate the ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching.
- Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
- Preference will be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.
