Position Overview

The Department of Philosophy at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer Pool.

• Asian Philosophy
• Symbolic Logic
• Contemporary Moral Issue
• 19th Century Philosophy

This is a pool of part‑time lecturers for the department. Appointments are temporary and typically made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

• Master’s degree in Philosophy or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with a culturally diverse range of students, including first‑generation college students.

• Experience working with diverse populations and fostering an inclusive environment.
• Relevant work experience or professional capabilities that enhance teaching.

After selection as a finalist, three letters of recommendation will be requested.

All appointments are made as Lecturers under the CSU system and CAFA agreement. Initial appointments are for one semester. Classification range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month. Anticipated hiring range: up to $6,221 per month. Compensation is prorated to units worked and paid in six monthly payments per semester.

The holder of the position is a mandated reporter under the California child‑abuse reporting act. Appointment is contingent upon background clearance; ongoing employment requires periodic screening per CSU policy.
