Job Description: The Department invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer Pool. Applicants will teach courses in the following areas:
- Introduction to Ethnic Studies
- Introduction to Asian Pacific American Studies
- History of Asian Pacific Americans
- Asian Pacific American Cultural Studies
- Asian American Film and Video
- Asian American Women
- Vietnamese Communities in the US
- Vietnamese American Experiences
- Multiple Heritage Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders
- South Asian American Experiences
- Korean American Experiences
- World War II Japanese American Evacuation
- Civic Engagement Through Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies
- Survey of American History with Emphasis on Ethnic Minorities
Required Qualifications:
- ABD doctoral candidate or Master’s degree with substantial graduate coursework in Asian American Studies, ethnic studies, or related fields.
- Expertise in fields relevant to the department curriculum.
- Evidence of prior relevant teaching, mentoring, or tutoring experience.
- Evidence of experience in relevant academic or professional/community‑based settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse student body, including first‑generation college students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse populations and fostering an inclusive environment.
- Professional experience and capabilities, including non‑traditional career backgrounds.

Required Materials Before Official Hire:

Appointment & Salary:
Initial appointments are for one semester only. Classification range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month. Anticipated hiring range depends on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month.
