About The PositionThe University Honors Program is seeking an exceptional individual to join as the University Honors Support Coordinator (Administrative Support Coordinator I). Under general supervision, the coordinator will support day-to-day operations of the honors program office and student center, assist with calendar and student communications, provide front-line support, guide student assistants, and coordinate their schedules and time reporting. Additional responsibilities include faculty recruitment support, SOQ processing, honors student coding and registration permits, class schedule entry assistance, and logistical support for events and meetings.
The role also includes travel, purchasing, supplies tracking, and IT coordination liaison tasks (central IT, service orders, email accounts, etc.). The candidate must be able to multi-task and meet internal and external deadlines and troubleshoot administrative problems as needed.
Under general direction, the coordinator provides general office support to students, faculty, staff, and community members. They plan, initiate, execute, and coordinate projects, activities, and events with accountability for results. They maintain files, process documents, gather data, and solve problems for work unit customers and staff. They use customer service and problem-solving skills to respond via email, telephone, and in person.
They use office technology and software packages to complete assignments, coordinate and schedule meetings and events, interpret policies, and work with individuals at all levels of the organization. Other duties as assigned.
- Coordinate day-to-day operations of the University Honors Program office and student center.
- Assist the Director with calendar management and student communications; provide front-line support.
- Guide and schedule student assistants and manage time reporting.
- Support faculty recruitment and the semester appointment process.
- Support the Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) faculty process.
- Code Honors students and issue registration permits for Honors course sections and assigned mentors.
- Assist with class schedule entry and coordinate event and meeting logistics.
- Assist with travel, purchasing, supplies tracking, and department IT coordination (liaison with central IT; service orders; email account setup or updates).
- Manage multiple tasks and respond to deadlines; troubleshoot administrative problems and inquiries.
- Essential:
