We seek an exceptional individual to join our Compensation Services team as the Compensation Specialist (Confidential Administrative Support II). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Compensation Services, the Compensation Specialist contributes to the overall efficiency and success of the Compensation Services Unit within the Division of Human Resources and Inclusive Excellence. This position is part of a team responsible for collaborating on unit objectives, integrating, and making suggestions on long‑ and short‑range goals. Performs confidential analytical functions related to staff positions, requiring a high level of initiative, judgement, and discretion.
Completes compensation and classification related analyses, including but not limited to classification reviews, in‑range progressions, reassignments, stipends, and bonuses for staff positions. Interprets and applies various Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA), salary programs, federal and state laws, as well as complex and sensitive CSU Classification Standards and salary data. Compiles reports, processes personnel documents, and other administrative functions. This position routinely accesses confidential information and provides management with analysis and data for issues related to collective bargaining agreements, including meet and confer issues as they relate to classification and compensation.
