About the Position

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at CSUF has an impressive record of student success. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Chemistry and Biochemistry Administrative Support Coordinator I. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under general direction, the Chemistry and Biochemistry Administrative Support Coordinator I provide general office support and customer service to students, faculty, staff, and community members. The Administrative Support Coordinator I is the front‑line receptionist to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and is responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of department and university practices and policies. Expected to establish and maintain productive working relationships with other departments across campus as well as with faculty, staff, and off‑campus vendors.

Composes posters, advertisements, newsletters and announcements for the department, updates social media and websites. Plans, initiates, executes, and coordinates projects, activities, and events with accountability for results. Handles inventory and purchases office supplies as needed.

Facilitates travel requests and reimbursements for faculty, students and staff traveling on university business. Maintains files, processes documents and records, gathers data, and interacts with and solves problems for faculty, staff, and students. Use customer service and problem‑solving skills to respond to customers via email, telephone, and in person. Requires knowledge of college and campus policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

  • High School diploma or the equivalent and four years of progressively responsible experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent.
