We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Steel Fitter to join our dynamic construction team on large-scale industrial and commercial projects. As a Steel Fitter, you will play a critical role in the accurate assembly, alignment, and installation of structural steel components on-site, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. Your expertise in reading blueprints, operating heavy equipment, and executing precise welding and bolting techniques will directly impact the integrity, stability, and longevity of the structures we build.

This role demands physical stamina, precision, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with proven experience in structural steel erection, a thorough understanding of OSHA regulations, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. This is a key position within our construction operations, contributing significantly to project success and team performance.

• Interpret and follow structural drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications to accurately position steel members.
• Assemble, align, and secure steel beams, columns, and structural components using hand tools, hoists, cranes, and rigging equipment.
• Perform precise welding, bolting, and fastening operations to ensure structural integrity and compliance with design standards.
• Conduct pre-installation inspections and verify measurements to ensure alignment and fit tolerance.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to coordinate installation sequences and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain a safe and clean worksite by adhering to OSHA and company safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report equipment malfunctions, material discrepancies, or safety hazards promptly to project management.
• Assist in the setup and dismantling of temporary supports and scaffolding as required.
• Contribute to daily progress reporting and documentation of installation activities.

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a steel fitter or structural steel installer in commercial or industrial construction.
• Proven ability to read and interpret structural drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Certification in welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) or equivalent experience with arc welding, MIG, and TIG processes.
• Valid certification in rigging, crane operation, or hoisting (where applicable) preferred.
• Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and construction site safety practices.
• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, levels, plumb bobs, and measuring instruments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
