General Technician

As a General Technician, you will be responsible for the implementation of all hotel policies, standards, and procedures related to energy conservation, fire prevention and life‑safety programs, as well as the effective preventive and routine maintenance of all refrigeration and HVAC plant/equipment. You will report to the Engineering Manager and coordinate and follow‑up with service companies during equipment breakdowns.

• Participate in departmental budget execution and expense control with a focus on energy management and preventive maintenance.
• Work with general contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality work is performed.
• Arrange for additional services such as repair work, renovations, and replacement of furnishings and equipment as required.
• Carry out preventive maintenance to the specified standard.
• Ensure all related tools are stored safely and in working condition.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure satisfaction with quality and progress.
• Be aware of the hotel’s emergency procedures.
• Ensure departmental disciplinary procedures are observed.
• Deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and provide creative solutions to guests.
• Emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement.
• Set a positive example for guest relations.
• Implement energy‑conservation activities and initiatives for the property as assigned.
• Participate in ongoing inspections of plant and equipment to determine the required maintenance work.
• Implement the Fire Life Safety (FLS) program activities of the department as tasked.

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in hotels in a similar position.
• Hands‑on repair and maintenance background.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and use of test equipment.
• Good command of the English language, both oral and written.
