Overview
Manages the operation of the technical trade areas, which usually includes plumbing, heating, electrical, refrigeration and air conditioning, preventative maintenance, and water plant.
Responsibilities- Manage and supervise the daily activities of the Facility Maintenance Shops:
Electrical, Multi-trades, Paint, Plumbing, Garage, Grounds, and HVAC Shops. - Collaborate with other Facility Supervisors to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient campus.
- Bachelor's degree and five years of experience managing and supervising construction/maintenance activities and staff.
- Comprehensive knowledge of and skill in the methods and techniques of the trades; knowledge of OSHA regulations related to the trades.
- Thorough knowledge of and skill in the practical application of electronics, hydraulics, and mechanics as used in maintenance work.
- Strong math skills including area, volume, weights and practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
- Understanding of supervision principles in the maintenance trades.
- Skill in care and storage of equipment and supplies; use and maintenance of tools and equipment of the trades; reading, interpreting, and working from blueprints, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to supervise and train skilled and unskilled employees in assigned trade work; to plan and organize maintenance work; to review cost estimates; to prepare specifications for tools, equipment, and materials.
