All about On Demand:
You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those looking for a personalized work schedule. As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members via the myTime mobile scheduling app.

When you pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary. Active engagement by picking up and working shifts once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours) is required. Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you need to respond to our attempts to contact you to confirm your interest. If you do not respond, employment may be terminated.

If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, employment may be administratively terminated. Your communication and ability to work when our business demands it most are critical to your success in this role. After offer, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule. The myTime app is used to pick up shifts.

Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Advocates of both in-store and digital services and solutions who are knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption and guest loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.

  • You thrive in a fast-moving, active and physically demanding role where teamwork, flexibility, and problem solving are key.
  • You are open to a flexible schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays and peak times).

Core skills include: effective communication, staying calm in a fast-paced environment, welcoming attitude, attention to detail, willingness to educate guests about products and services, and the ability to use multiple devices and technology.

Basic expectations include cash handling, stocking, shift flexibility, active engagement, compliance with safety and policies, and ability to work in varying temperatures and environments. You may assist with order pick up (OPU), Drive-Up (DU) orders, DU returns and related duties.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests during daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to resolve issues and improve guest experience.
  • Maintain a friendly demeanor and thank guests for shopping at Target.
  • Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
  • Introduce guests to current brand launches and store activities.
  • Promote Target Loyalty programs and direct guests to enroll or activate.
  • Explain Wallet and Target App features to guests.
  • Handle returns following store policies and escalate to leaders when needed.
  • De-escalate situations with leaders as needed to recover the guest shopping experience.
  • Provide easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
