Fromefield Manor School is recruiting a Maintenance Assistant to join our dedicated maintenance team.
About the SchoolFromefield Manor School is a special school for up to 30 pupils aged 11‑19 who have a diagnosis of autism with associated complex needs. With a total communication approach and bespoke timetables, we ensure our students receive the care, attention, time and dedication to enable them to access education and reach their individual goals and aspirations. The school opened September 2024 and is located in central Frome, Somerset.
ResponsibilitiesWe’re looking for a passionate and skilled handyperson with a keen interest in maintenance, DIY and facilities upkeep. You’ll be responsible for addressing day‑to‑day reactive maintenance issues across the school site and grounds, helping to ensure a safe and well‑maintained environment for our students and staff.
You’ll also raise jobs, arrange maintenance of equipment and vehicles, liaise with contractors on and off‑site and respond to ad‑hoc requests from management as needed. The role includes both planned and reactive maintenance tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of our facilities.
QualificationsIdeally, you will have experience in some of the following areas: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, plastering (qualifications are not essential).
