The Group Fitness Instructor (GFI) is a member of the Cowboys Fit team and plays a key role in the company’s overall success. The GFI will prepare and lead a fun, safe and effective group class based on the class description, offering modifications for less experienced or more experienced clients as needed. The instructor will represent the club in a positive manner, greeting the clients as they enter and leave class.
WorkSchedule
This is a part-time position. Your daily schedule will vary throughout the week depending on the needs of the club, the staff, and the members.
Responsibilities- Prepare and lead a fun, safe and effective class for all levels of participation based on class descriptions.
- Begin and end classes on time per the monthly schedule.
- Arrive 5 minutes early for all classes to prepare the room and greet clients.
- Dress appropriately for all classes.
- Maintain current and correct certifications for your format(s) as well as CPR certification.
- Keep studios orderly, lock stereo cabinet and use a microphone sponge cover.
- Maintain an electronic record of classes taught or subbed, including attendance numbers.
- When needed, secure substitute teachers to cover your regular class or a class you have agreed to sub; notify your Group Fitness Director (GFD) of all substitutes as early as possible.
- Contact the club if you are running late and ask that someone from management notify your class.
- Please teach what is scheduled. If members want something different, inform the GFD so a class can be added.
- All written or verbal communication must be delivered in a positive manner.
- Instructors will uphold the brand standards of Cowboys Fit.
- A passion for health and wellness and the ability to influence people in overcoming their obstacles to exercising, joining a fitness club, and making lifestyle changes.
- Enjoy networking and building relationships; comfortable on the phone and in doing outreach in the community.
- Commitment to providing top-notch customer service and some experience working in a fast-paced customer service role.
- Computer-savvy and proficient in using programs such as Word and Excel.
- Team player who approaches challenges in a creative and positive manner.
- Experience in a sales environment focused on attaining revenue and unit goals is a plus.
