OverviewTexas Oncology is looking for a Full‑time Clinical Registered Nurse Senior (RN) to join our team in Frisco. This full‑time position does not have weekend, call or major holiday coverage. Typical hours are Mon‑Fri from 8:30 a‑5 p. Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country and has over 600 providers in more than 220 sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma.

Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological and developmental differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age and the elderly. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient and family needs and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
- Assess patient and family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient’s chart.
- As necessary, facilitate communication between patients/families and the interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Act as a resource to LPN, LVNs and medical assistants.
- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Five years nursing experience.
