JOB

SUMMARY

Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of Ride & Show Maintenance functions and maintenance efforts. Provides work direction and leads the daily tasks of Team Member work to support the operation, preventative maintenance, and RV annuals. Leads the team by overseeing shifts, opening and closing procedures, assisting with daily/weekly/monthly/annually maintenance planning and completing administrative duties in support of Ride & Show Management and compliance requirements.

Upholds and reinforces Universal policies and procedures, escalating concerns to Ride & Show Management as necessary and ensures Team Member safety.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plans and delegates work tasks. Supports, follows, and implements Technical Services planning and scheduling for the assigned shift. Delegates work assignments among qualified Team Members. Communicates performance expectations to ensure proper completion of tasks; provides feedback for recognition and performance improvement. Manages down time recovery while maintaining composure and keeping the Team Members and guests safe.
  • Actively reinforces company safety guidelines and programs, reports or correct non-compliance. Monitors Team Member productivity and work habits. Leads the startup and stoppage of work and schedules breaks. Monitors care, condition, use and storage of tools, equipment and other Universal Kids Resort property daily. Manages material inventory processes. Monitors compliance with department standards, driving policy, radio usage, and other Universal policies.
  • Ensures proper completion of work orders and documentation, ensuring accurate data entry and standardization daily within Maximo. Captures written behaviors using the Lead Observation-Report to support Ride & Show Management documentation and adherence to state requirements.
  • Assists with training new and current Team Members and coordinating daily training needs. Provides training updates and follows up as necessary to ensure the completion of all proper documentation and adherence to Universal standards and procedures. Communicates resource needs and work plans to leadership for proper maintenance scheduling and support.
  • Performs Technician job duties, as described, as necessary to ensure labor coverage during seasonal closures. Maintains and shares job knowledge, assists in developing Team Members. Demonstrates adaptability and the ability to acquire skills in additional disciplines that benefit from their technical expertise, supporting a broader range of operational and project needs.
  • Communicates and coordinates across Technical Services and with Operations team as needed to ensure a smooth operation and guest safety. Assists with seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives as directed.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Must be willing to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends to support seasonal maintenance initiatives.
  • Training is required and will be provided prior to performing the inspections.
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Previous mechanic, maintenance, or attractions, show or water area technical experience is preferred.

EDUCATION
  • Associate’s or Technical degree in related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical systems, experience with hydraulic and mechanical systems either in the theme park industry is preferred; 6+ months of experience with providing work direction is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
