Job Summary
Responsible for completing, and responding to legal requests related to attorney billing, affidavits, subpoenas, depositions, and patient accounts. Follow up directly with attorneys as needed to obtain additional information to complete the legal request before established state requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Process patient and legal requests for patients, attorneys, and third parties – including attorney billing, affidavits, depositions, and subpoenas.
- Update accounts for bankruptcy notices received for patients.
- Perform clerical duties such as sorting correspondence, filing, sending routine letters, photocopying, scanning, and indexing documents.
- Validate and update account information in the ACE, STAR, EPIC or Meditech systems.
- Submit adjustments for patient accounts, post, and deposit attorney checks.
- Intermediate level MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, excellent listening skills, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Customer service skills.
- Ability to research and work independently.

Education / Experience- High school diploma or some college (preferred).
- Knowledge of healthcare terminology.
- Intermediate knowledge of the healthcare industry.
- 2‑3 years working in a healthcare, legal or business office environment.
- Experience with ACE, EPIC, STAR, and Meditech is a plus.
- Must be able to work in a sitting position, use a computer, and answer telephone.
- Office/Teamwork Environment.
