Job Description:
The Assistant Controller will act as an essential support to the Director of Finance, assisting with day-to-day financial operations and office management for our Dallas and San Diego offices. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage various administrative and financial tasks, support accounts payable (AP) and receivable (AR) processes, DSP (demand side platform), and ensure smooth operations. The Assistant Controller will play a vital role in maintaining efficient financial workflows and supporting the Director of Finance in achieving departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Coordination:
Ensure smooth office operations by assisting the Director of Finance to coordinate meetings, prepare documents, and maintain schedules. - Financial Assistance:
Provide financial support to the Director of Finance, assisting with data entry, tracking financial transactions, and preparing reports. Help manage AR and AP processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments. - Expense Management:
Support the Director of Finance in monitoring office expenses for the Dallas and San Diego offices. Assist with the coordination of office budgets, expense tracking, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. - Financial Reporting:
Help prepare regular financial reports, including AR and AP status, office expenses, and other key financial metrics. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of reports for senior management. - Create and record month end closing journal entries in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer.
- Oversight of subsidiary companies including ownership of client expenses.
- Process Improvement:
Collaborate with the Director of Finance to streamline and improve financial processes. Support the development and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for finance and operations tasks. - Communication &
Collaboration:
Act as a liaison between the finance department and other departments, facilitating communication and helping resolve issues related to billing, expenses, and payments.
Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience in an accounting support role.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) required
Experience with and Quick Books preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required.
CPA Certification preferred, not required.
