To instruct and demonstrate proper swimming skills with an emphasis toward competitive swimming.
Qualifications- Education/Certification
:
Minimum age 16 - Special Knowledge/Skills
:
Must exhibit a love for working with children;
Flexible, positive, and able to try new ideas;
Ability to work evenings during the school year;
Ability to work either mornings, evenings, or both during the summer season;
Maintain a professional, mature, and positive teaching style while instructing - Experience
:
Experience in teaching swimming classes and individuals of various ages and ability levels - Competitive Swimming Experience Preferred
- One year of customer service preferred
- Adhere to the established learn-to-swim curriculum.
- Create an educational, safe, and inviting experience for all participants.
- Evaluate all students in their assigned class.
- Update skill levels through the online registration system.
- Teach a variety of swim skill levels.
- Provide for the health and safety of participants, including ensuring that all teaching and practice areas are free of hazards and that materials and equipment are safe.
- Communicate with parents on a regular basis.
- Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Exposure to high humidity and potential chemical hazards in pool water. Moderate lifting; crouch/kneeling; sitting/standing. Work on slippery surfaces.
