Position: Staff Nurse - Eden Day Unit | Health NHS Foundation Trust

Staff Nurse – Eden Day Unit (Part-Time, 25.5 Hours)

Wexham Park Hospital

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Eden Day Unit at Wexham Park Hospital. This role is ideal for nurses with acute care or oncology experience—or those keen to develop in chemotherapy services—with a clear path toward a Junior Sister role.

You will support the delivery of high-quality care to patients undergoing chemotherapy and cancer treatments in a busy, dynamic unit. The post offers valuable training and development in a specialist oncology environment.

Key responsibilities:
  • Administering chemotherapy safely and effectively
  • Coordinating the daily patient list and staff allocation
  • Using the UKONS triage system to assess patient needs
  • Providing compassionate, patient-focused care
  • Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual patient care with minimal supervision.
  • To work as part of the multi‑disciplinary team to ensure that treatments are correctly carried out in accordance with given policy.
  • Responsible for the assessment of complex care needs of chemotherapy patients and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
  • Lead and monitor the performance and standards of care within the Nursing Team.
  • Work collaboratively with the other members of cancer services team to facilitate the development of the service
Qualifications:

You must have some experience as a Band 5 Registered Nurse and completed preceptorship.
