- Fixed-term 12‑month maternity cover, part‑time – 26 hours per week
We are looking for motivated, compassionate Junior Sister/Charge Nurses to join our friendly, dynamic, and supportive team in the Paediatric Emergency Department at Frimley Park Hospital.
In this leadership role, you will play a vital part in delivering high‑quality, safe, and family‑centred emergency care for children and young people. Working closely with the Senior Ward Sister/Charge Nurse, you will support and lead the nursing team, coordinating and overseeing shifts in their absence and ensuring excellent standards of care are consistently maintained.
Key responsibilities- Support the ED Sister/Charge Nurse in leading the nursing team, ensuring that high standards are met and maintained for all children and their families.
- Ensure the department's ethos reflects the Trust values, assisting with the delivery of patient safety, a good patient experience and the effective running of the department.
- Act as a skilled practitioner and senior nurse within the Emergency Department to ensure that the highest quality of care is given to patients.
- Ensure that all clinical practice is evidence‑based, in accordance with local and national standards for good practice.
- Assist in the clinical management of the Emergency Department by ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources, and providing clinical leadership, supervision and support to the team.
- In conjunction with the Clinical Matrons / Team Leaders and other Sisters / Charge Nurses, facilitate the development of the service and personal development of all nursing staff within the clinical area of responsibility.
- Take the lead on projects as appropriate.
