Join our Trauma & Orthopaedics team as a Core Clinical Fellow!

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in patient care while working alongside experienced Consultants and senior trainees. Although not a formal training post, you’ll benefit from a strong educational programme designed to develop your clinical, professional, and personal skills in a supportive environment.

  • Provide care for acute patients and take responsibility for the daily management and review of patients admitted to the Trauma & Orthopaedic wards at Frimley Park Hospital under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Participate in the morning trauma meeting and, when on‑call, attend the evening handover.
  • Arrive at 07:45 for handover when covering the ward.
  • On theatre days, carry out pre‑operative patient reviews with your team and assist with surgery.
  • When on‑call, manage referrals from A&E, external sources and other hospital departments.
  • Prepare and deliver the morbidity and mortality presentation for your allocated consultant during the monthly academic half‑day meeting.
  • Take responsibility for your continuing professional development and attend all Trust‑mandated essential training.
  • Respond to ward calls promptly and maintain an updated inpatient list.
  • Assist with postoperative patient reviews staying overnight.
  • Comply at all times with the Trust’s dress code and infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and remaining bare below the elbows in patient areas.
  • Undergo an annual appraisal as part of maintaining medical registration and meeting requirements for revalidation.
