The Opportunity

Join a leading team ensuring submarine systems are designed, built, and commissioned safely and reliably. As a Senior Engineer in Product Assurance, you’ll work across development, build, and integration teams, providing independent technical scrutiny, assessing design maturity, and driving risk mitigation throughout the engineering lifecycle.

You’ll engage with internal departments and the MoD, attending inspections, test reviews, and release activities to ensure submarines meet their design intent and are ready for service.

What You’ll Do

* Identify and implement technical risk mitigations with development teams

* Provide independent assessments of design maturity and engineering deliverables

* Support product assurance activities throughout the lifecycle

* Collaborate with Build and Integration Teams to understand the combat system, platform build plan, and defect management

* Attend inspections, set-to-work activities, and readiness reviews as required

What They are looking for:

Essential:

* Good understanding of submarine systems, design, operation, safety, and certification

* Knowledge of the engineering lifecycle and ability to work independently

* Strong foundation in engineering activities associated with product development and realisation

Desirable:

* Ability to achieve Professional Institution membership (honours degree or equivalent experience)

* Experience in submarine design, commissioning, operation, safety, or safety case architecture

* Specialist knowledge of Safety or Security in complex systems
