Overview

Position Summary:

Our fresh food associates are a key part of what makes shopping at Sam’s Club a great experience. In the meat department you’ll help with the quality, packaging, and display of meat items. Your attention to detail and steady hand contribute to a quality product and excellent member service. You’ll be on the front line of customer service, and your smile can make the difference between a good shopping experience and a great one.

Responsibilities
  • Be a Team Member:
    Collaborates with other associates to build a strong meat team; communicates with team members; and is flexible to work in other areas as needed.
  • Be an Expert:
    Demonstrates knowledge of floor operations, product safety standards, sanitation guidelines, inventory management, and the operation, maintenance, and sanitization of equipment; prepares meat products according to established standards; cuts boneless meat products; maintains product quality standards.
  • Be a Techie:
    Uses digital tools to drive sales and improve the shopping experience; utilizes handheld devices to make decisions related to production, training, and product quality with the member in mind; adapts to new tools and encourages others to use them.
  • Be an Owner:
    Maintains operational excellence and work area according to company policies; ensures quality and date control standards; secures fragile merchandise; eliminates waste; assists members with purchasing decisions; ensures merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored per policies.
  • Be a Talent Ambassador:
    Values the member experience in the meat area; models high-quality service and products; shows energy and commitment for the work.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity; applies related action plans and Open Door Policy.
  • Completes work assignments by using policies, data, and resources; collaborates with managers, co-workers, customers, and partners; communicates progress and information; identifies improvement opportunities and adapts to change.
What you’ll do
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members; answer questions as needed; maintain a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
  • Be a Team Member and be flexible to support the club’s needs across areas as required.
  • Ensure proper product handling including cutting, grinding, wrapping, trimming, and packaging to standard quality.
Qualifications
