Commercial Driver – Class C
Responsibilities- Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner.
- Review orders before and after delivery to ensure they are complete, accurate, and that customers are satisfied.
- Follow dispatcher directions, assigned routes, time schedules, and use navigation apps or alternative routes when necessary to deliver packages on time.
- Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles without interfering with operations at the customer’s place of business.
- Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and professionally handle complaints and concerns.
- Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
- Accept payments, prepare reports to include invoices, return forms, reconcile debt and credit, and process all monies collected related to deliveries.
- When applicable, complete daily maintenance checks on the company delivery vehicle and notify the manager of any issues.
- Assist with store/warehouse duties, such as stocking and parts pulling, as assigned.
- Maintain and promote workplace safety.
- Secure and transfer cash or other assets.
- Current valid CDL – Class
C. - Age 21 or older to meet insurance requirements.
- Current valid automobile insurance with your name on the policy.
- Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged sitting.
Skills and Abilities
- Manage, track, and account for money transactions and reconcile customer credit and debt balances.
- Use a tablet and/or mobile device for navigation, route optimization, tracking and customer interface/signal capture.
- Exceptional customer and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively, professionally, with tact and diplomacy.
- Take and follow directions and work well with others as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work overtime as needed (preferred).
- Previous delivery driving experience is a plus.
- 4 working days per week with 10‑hour shifts.
- Must meet all minimum requirements and knowledge/skills to be eligible to drive for Parts Authority.
