Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Perform visual inspections of structural steel fabrication, welding and bolting.
• Perform material identification, verification and sampling of unidentified steel
• Prepare reports and other related documents in accordance with good engineering practices and applicable building codes
• Communicate and document discrepancies in work inspected to steel shop and field crews and to SALEM engineers.
• Complete appropriate documentation in a timely and accurate manner
• Understand and utilize safe working practices

Preferred Certifications

• CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) Certification
• ICC Structural Steel & Welding Special Inspector and ICC Structural Steel & Bolting Special Inspector certifications are a plus

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of welding inspection experience preferred
• CWI and ICC certifications maintained current and in good standing
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite to submit reports on company templates
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work off ladders and scaffold at construction sites
• English speaking, reading and writing required
