Ross, a leading off-price retail chain, invites you to join our team as an Area Supervisor.

Overview

As an Area Supervisor, you will oversee a specific area of the store, ensuring smooth operations, safety, and excellent customer service. You will also serve as Manager on Duty, managing opening and closing, supervising associates, and maintaining store standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment: practice safety, monitor the sales floor, manage entrance/exit control, secure the building, oversee EAS devices, and handle security duties.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service: treat customers and associates with respect, demonstrate courtesy, and recognize associates.
  • Represent the Ross brand: adhere to the dress code, keep the store clean, and manage daily trash removal.
  • Oversee merchandising: process merchandise, recover, size, markdown, organize the stockroom, and manage department merchandising and loss reduction.
  • Implement loss prevention measures: conduct package inspections, maintain PVM systems, and protect confidential information.
  • Supervise front‑end operations: train associates, manage registers, schedule breaks, and ensure equipment and supplies function properly.
  • Maintain fitting rooms: keep them clean, audit tags, and ensure go‑back compliance.
  • Perform administrative duties: conduct cash pulls and bank deposits, handle payroll tasks, and complete other assignments as directed.
Essential Functions & Competencies
  • Manage work processes, demonstrate business acumen, and prioritize tasks.
  • Build talent, collaborate, lead by example, communicate effectively, and ensure accountability.
Qualifications & Special Skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment.
  • Basic mathematical calculation ability.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
  • Use store equipment and stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100 % of the working time.
  • Bend at the waist, squat, kneel, walk up stairs, carry, reach, and stoop regularly; lift up to 25 lb (20 lb for stockroom duties).
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Retail Associates and Stockroom Leads (where applicable).
