Cook; On Call

Position Details

• Title: Cook (On Call)
• Location: Exodus Recovery, Fresno, CA 93703
• Schedule: On call; 5:30 am‑2:00 pm and 2:00 pm‑8:00 pm (days may vary)
• Pay: $21.00 per hour
• Requirement: Previous food service experience preferred; willing to train.

Summary: Prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards and guidelines, ensuring quality food service at all times.

• Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serve meals or prepare them for delivery, using correct portioning and ensuring food is at the correct temperature, attractive and tasty. Taste all prepared food items.
• Use established ticket‑collection procedures during service; maintain accurate records for the area worked.
• Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness; store or discard excess food per safe food‑handling procedures.
• Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; ensure food and supply items are stored per standards.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required.
• Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required.
• Report maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
• Perform all tasks safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control and serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Commit to personal safety and that of others.
• Abide by all company policies and procedures, including use of appropriate gloves, mitts, shoes, and lifting techniques.

• Previous food service experience preferred; willingness to train.
• Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Ability to work flexible, on‑call schedule.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
